Big Dinosaurs Take Over Cleveland
Is bigger better? We may never know how dinosaurs feel but it's clear what the crowd wants. Big dinosaurs and more of them.
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History just cut the ribbon on a traveling exhibit filled with some of the biggest fossils that have ever been found. One of the mounted sauropods, a Mamenchisaurus hochuanensis, is about 60 feet long. Some of the bones alone are about 10 feet long.
The exhibit, organized by the American Musuem of Natural History, will complement the Cleveland museum's permanent collection which includes the largest known skelleton of the Haplocanthosaurus delfsi, a sauropod that once grew to be as large as 72 feet long.
The exhibit runs through January 3rd, 2016.
